The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bino doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Geist counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bino's guard now.
Bino utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Geist throws a big right hand that misses.

Bino is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Geist is aware though and is defending well.

Bino working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Geist doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Geist manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Geist stays in close to Bino's body and controls the position.

Bino isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Geist stacks Bino on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Geist!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Khmelnytsky misses
and Tasaki counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tasaki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tasaki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hero Tasaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khmelnytsky takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tasaki lands an overhand right.
Khmelnytsky slips a jab and a cross from Tasaki.

Khmelnytsky drops Tasaki with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Tasaki looks back up at him and smiles so Khmelnytsky waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Hero Tasaki has been cut.

Tasaki closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Khmelnytsky quickly recovers to half guard.
