We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Couture working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. SparBJJ doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. SparBJJ manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

SparBJJ postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Couture is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of SparBJJ, into his guard.

Couture misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Couture has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but SparBJJ is really squeezing tight and eventually Couture passes out! SparBJJ breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
