and Hampaslupa counters with a thumping low kick.

Carleone tries to keep at a distance but Hampaslupa has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hampaslupa is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Carleone blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Carleone is trying to drag Hampaslupa to the mat but Hampaslupa just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hampaslupa wants to control the pace but Carleone is squirming around nicely.
Hampaslupa has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carleone's face.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yang takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Yang gets caught flat footed, as Marcio shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Marcio has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Modaal looks to land a left hand but Pierce moved out of range nicely.
Modaal throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Modaal throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pierce tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Modaal paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pierce shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pierce was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Pierce is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Modaal has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Modaal!

Speziale is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Speziale does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Newson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Speziale takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Newson lands a big head kick that sends Speziale to the canvas! Newson follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
