The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Purnatori shoots in looking for a takedown. Fatu tries to sprawl out of it but Purnatori keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fatu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Purnatori closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Purnatori lands in his opponent's guard.

It looks like Eddie Fatu has been cut.
Purnatori works over Fatu with some ground and pound from guard.

Fatu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Purnatori defends it easily.
Purnatori will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Purnatori got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fatu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Purnatori has managed to get both his arms back between Fatu's legs - danger averted.

Filho fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wang looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Filho lands a jab to the nose.
Filho scores with a jab to the head.

It looks like Mr Wang has been cut.
Wang looks to land a left hand but Filho moved out of range nicely.
Filho takes a swing at Wang's ribcage but misses.
Wang fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Filho ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Wang is trying hard to land a takedown here. Filho sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Filho lands a really nice looking cross but Wang seems unphased.

Kirby ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kirby no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Allen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kirby kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joe Kirby.

Vonstein throws a lazy right hand but Tran sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Vonstein gets caught flat footed, as Tran shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Tran has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vonstein is proving hard to escape from.
Vonstein wants to sweep here but Tran controlling him for the moment.
Vonstein really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

kong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

kong throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hanma on the side of the head.

Hanma lands a left and a right that send kong crashing to the mat, dazed. Hanma thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
