And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Takanori Gomi!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gomi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but De Souza moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

De Souza tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gomi swivels and escapes.

Gomi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

De Souza drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and De Souza jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

De Souza is nestled in close to Gomi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gomi can do anything to dispel that myth.
