Goebbels throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Staley's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Goebbels dives in looking to finish as Staley flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Goebbels's strikes! Goebbels is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Staley's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Staley was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mooses Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viimeinen Toivo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzales comes into the arena with Liehuva Liekinvarsi blaring out of the sound system. Toivo has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Al Clergia will probably get the nod.

Sayaf walks straight into a right hand from Clergia - that's dropped him! Clergia jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Sayaf from any more punishment! Sayaf complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
