The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Butterworth moves into the clinch.
Thompson prevents a body shot from Butterworth.

Butterworth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Thompson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Butterworth is really squeezing tight and eventually Thompson passes out! Butterworth breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Hurricane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Split postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hurricane is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Split, into his guard.
Hurricane controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Split escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hurricane gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hurricane is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like Hurricane might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Hurricane wants to control from the top but Split keeps moving.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Piston Hurricane has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Split closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hurricane to the mat! Hurricane manages to get full guard.
Hurricane has control of Split's left arm, preventing Split from doing any damage.
Split won't allow Hurricane to sweep him here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hurricane can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hurricane is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hurricane is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hurricane is pulling down on Split's head. It's preventing any offense from Split, at least for the moment.

Hurricane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Split is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hurricane slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hurricane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Split swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Split is looking to stand up but Hurricane isn't so interested in that idea.

Split is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hurricane in particular looking to stall.
Hurricane's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Split's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Split is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Hurricane locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Split is forced to tap!

Golden throws a sloppy head kick and Williams moves out of range easily.
Williams tests Golden's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That kick from Williams tenderised Golden's leg. Golden is trying to keep his angry face on.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Golden.
Williams throws a head kick that misses.
Golden closes the distance and clinches up with Williams, looking for a takedown. Golden pushes Williams against the cage but Williams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Williams walks forward, straight into a front kick from Golden.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Williams throws a front kick that sends Golden stumbling back into the cage.
Williams throws a sloppy head kick
and Golden counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Williams is breathing heavily.

Golden closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Golden ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Golden no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Golden pulls Williams in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Golden is proving hard to escape from.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Glory Of The Golden was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Golden goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Brandon Williams has been cut.
Williams could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Perkins wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jackson, who protects the arm well.
Sloppy strikes there by Perkins.

Perkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Perkins remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perkins on the ground.

Perkins is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Jackson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Perkins gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Jackson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Perkins lets go of the hold and Jackson can pop his arm back in it's socket.
