The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lawson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
Lawson lands a right hook to the body.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Lawson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lawson jabs Gracie right on the nose. Gracie blinks but takes it well.

It looks like Rickson Gracie has been cut.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lawson sprawls well. Lawson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Eric Lawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickson Gracie.
Lawson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lawson wants it to stay on the feet.
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Gracie is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Lawson moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
