Holyshit comes to the cage accompanied by Black Dog. LaVey has chosen Punishment as his entrance music. Anton LaVey is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaVey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Holyshit lands with a cross.

It looks like Anton LaVey has been cut.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

LaVey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - LaVey lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

LaVey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Holyshit is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of LaVey, into his guard.
Holyshit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for LaVey on the ground.

LaVey wants to sweep but no luck.
Holyshit has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Holyshit working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Evander Holyshit.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Masakazu Maeda wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Smoulder's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Smoulder duly obliges.
Maeda takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Smoulder makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Maeda really felt that one!

Smoulder feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sigmar Magnusson.
