The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

HIt Man shoots in and bounces Gracie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
HIt Man slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
HIt Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
HIt Man throws and elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in HIt Man's guard. Nice move by Gracie!

Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
HIt Man really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

HIt Man has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gracie off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Mezger scores with a one two! Lawson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Logan Lawson has been cut.
Mezger shoots in looking for a takedown. Lawson tries to sprawl out of it but Mezger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lawson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lawson throws a front kick that sends Mezger stumbling back into the cage.
Mezger takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mezger feints a jab promting Lawson to slip. Mezger then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lawson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Lawson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mezger.

Lawson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Mezger takes a jab right on the kisser.
Lawson throws a hook to the side of Mezger's head but Mezger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mezger is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lawson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Logan Lawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guy Mezger.

Lawson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mezger sprawling to the canvas! Mezger rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lawson finish him?!

Mezger takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Mezger is trying desperately to land a takedown but Lawson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Mezger.

Mezger is still on wobbly legs! Can Lawson finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lawson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mezger stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mezger avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mezger seems to have recovered his senses.
Mezger walks straight into a right hand from Lawson - that's dropped him! Lawson jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mezger from any more punishment! Mezger complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
