Phillips is backing up but Tynin catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Phillips covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Tynin Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Lin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Alan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lin comes to the cage accompanied by Advance On v2. Alan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fucking Hostile by Pantera kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! James Alan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Alan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lin is looking to clinch.

A looping hook to the body misses from Alan. Lin does a little dance to reset his feet.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinigami Hyuuku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Langley might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to No More Heroes: Kill or Be Killed Mix. The crowd seem to be enjoying Hyuuku's choice of entrance music: In My Head. Shinigami Hyuuku told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Langley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Moe Lester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhirkov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Denton manages to avoid it.
Denton throws a solid leg kick but Zhirkov takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Denton.
Denton tries to land a leg kick but Zhirkov saw it coming and moves away.
Denton fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Zhirkov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Zhirkov gets caught flat footed, as Denton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Zhirkov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Zhirkov has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Zhirkov and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
