This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hook feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Old Papi collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

Chicken fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Menochi avoids it really well and circles away.
Chicken fails with the takedown
and Menochi counters with a one-two to the body.
No joy there for Menochi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Menochi scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Chicken backs away from a small jab...but Menochi lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Chicken crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Menochi with a spectacular finish!

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Punchy misses with a low kick as Deal jumps back.

Deal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Punchy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Deal looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deal looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Punchy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Deal is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Deal is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Al Deal just wasn't active enough.
Punchy tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and Deal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Deal.
Deal pushing down on Punchy's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Deal with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Deal is working for a kimura but Punchy is defending it quite comfortably.

Deal is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Punchy is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Punchy flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Deal anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Punchy and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Deal slips an arm under Punchy chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Deal has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Deal is squeezing on Punchy like an anaconda would it's prey. Punchy fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

ODonnald is looking to stand up but Shaw isn't so interested in that idea.

Shaw is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Shaw not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shaw connects with a nice short shot to ODonnald's temple.

Shaw seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. ODonnald is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Keiji Inoue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gites lands a body shot.
Gites lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Inoue at a distance.

Gites shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gites wants to pass to mount but Inoue is defending the position.
Gites is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Inoue looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Well, if Gites is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gites has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Inoue defend it? Gites steps over the head and cranks it - Inoue is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gites!
