The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bicki tries to clinch up but Alvarez circles away and keeps his distance.
Bicki swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Alvarez lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Alvarez slips a nice elbow through Bicki's hands, connecting with Bicki's forehead.

Bicki tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Alvarez seems to be looking for submissions.
Bicki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Phoenix slips a nice elbow through Convents's hands, connecting with Convents's forehead.

Convents has his foot on Phoenix's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Phoenix works his way back into a safe position though.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Phoenix here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Convents pushes a forearm under Phoenix's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Phoenix is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Kralaiev tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Rajantakaa avoids it.

Rajantakaa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rajantakaa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kralaiev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Rajantakaa has closed the distance and engaged Kralaiev in a clinch.
Rajantakaa doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Rajantakaa blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rajantakaa lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kralaiev backwards.

Kralaiev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
