Cavinato working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Villapudua doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Villapudua manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Villapudua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Villapudua wants to stand but Cavinato has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Cavinato is looking to sinch up a triangle. Villapudua throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cavinato's body to avoid the submission. Cavinato has instead reached around Villapudua's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cavinato arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duxx is looking to clinch.
Duxx tries to close the distance and clinch up but Escuela swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Escuela counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Escuela stands up over Duxx, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Escuela is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Duxx is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Duxx has escaped and now he's on top!

Tyson Gauge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gauge has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gauge lands with a right to the head.

It looks like James William has been cut.

William breaks from the clinch.
Gauge tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gauge throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gauge fakes high and swings low for a body shot but William manages to avoid it.
Gauge scoring well with a low kick there.
Gauge lands a glancing blow to the side of William's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

William swings for the body but Gauge moves out of range.
Gauge steps to the side to avoid the strikes from William.
Gauge throws a sloppy head kick and William moves out of range easily.
A bone on bone clash there as William blocks the leg kick.
A punch lands to the side of William 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Gauge lands a big head kick that sends William tumbling to the mat! Gauge takes a step backwards and waves William back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
William throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gauge cracks William with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That has opened up James William's cut even more.
The fighters circling - William throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
William misses the shot to the body.
Gauge ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Gauge pivots, looking for a leg kick but William is out of range and Gauge settles back down.

William tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gauge wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
William is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gauge stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
