The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Bernstein.
Pilgrim moves out of range of the strikes.
Pilgrim fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bernstein throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pilgrim ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Pilgrim slaps away a takedown attempt from Bernstein, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pilgrim slips under a jab.
Pilgrim avoids the head kick by Bernstein.

Pilgrim lands a left and a right that send Bernstein crashing to the mat, dazed. Pilgrim thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Bernstein is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
BAM! Pilgrim delivers a spinning backfist that drops Bernstein like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Miyamoto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ticon is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rogers looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ticon gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rogers is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ticon lets go of the hold and Rogers can pop his arm back in it's socket.

A nice inside leg kick there by Torres. That's going to slow Jeetjutsu down.
Thiago Jeetjutsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jeetjutsu takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Jeetjutsu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Jeetjutsu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jeetjutsu is looking for a kimura but Torres is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jeetjutsu to get the leverage.

Jeetjutsu uses his free foot to push down on Torres's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Torres.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jeetjutsu with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Torres keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Jeetjutsu swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Torres is now in Jeetjutsu's guard. A big mistake from Jeetjutsu there, giving up the dominant position!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Terry Bogard.
