The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ticon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Ticon stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Aciano dives in and grabs Ticon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ticon pushes down on Aciano's head and hops out.
A head kick misses from Ticon.
A big left from Ticon misses.
Aciano moves in looking to clinch but Ticon pushes him off.

Ticon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Aciano's guard.
Ticon passes Aciano's left leg - he's now in half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ticon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Aciano doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ticon.

Ticon moves into the clinch.

Ticon has clasped his hands together around Aciano's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Ticon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Aciano is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aciano tries to lock up and control but Ticon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Aciano is squirming around, avoiding Ticon's attempts to control the action.

Bruce Ticon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Aciano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ticon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Aciano gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ticon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ticon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Aciano's guard.
Aciano is staying active underneath Ticon, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bruce Ticon.

Ticon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Aciano tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ticon is in Aciano's guard.

Ticon is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Aciano tries to hold on but Ticon postures up.
Ticon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Aciano is looking to escape.

Ticon looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Ticon is landing with some decent strikes but Aciano is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Ticon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Ticon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Ticon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rogers comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Rogers continues to tee off on Pokerface, landing with a left and a right! Rogers connects with a right hand that leaves Pokerface sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Rogers!

Walsh uses his free foot to push down on Sakazaki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sakazaki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ople throws a head kick but Max moves out of range.

A head kick lands from Ople that sends Max to the canvas. Max tries to scramble back to his feet but Ople brings him back down into side control.

It looks like Michael Max has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Max is looking for a sweep.

Ople decides to stand back up. Ople steps back and let's Max get back to his feet.
Ople throws a sloppy head kick and Max moves out of range easily.

Max could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters circle, before Ople throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Max's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Ople lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Well Sakara has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Horrible takedown by Uleh or perhaps it was just good defense by Matrix which made him look bad.

Matrix stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Matrix wants it to stay on the feet.

Uleh has managed to clinch.

Matrix jumps guard and drags Uleh to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Matrix is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
