The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gator fails with the takedown
and Novikov counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gator moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Novikov lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Gator looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Novikov scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gator tries to roll over but Novikov keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

BOOM! Novikov connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Novikov connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Gator takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Novikov's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Narcaleptic Arlovski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Arlovski or perhaps it was just good defense by Noshi which made him look bad.
Noshi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Oh Arlovski is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Noshi jerks Arlovski's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Arlovski drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Noshi goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Noshi because Arlovski was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Garris fails with a takedown attempt.
Garris throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sandelos's waist but Sandelos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Garris off to one side.

Jonathan Sandelos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Garris.
