The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Hyol counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That kick from Kern tenderised Hyol's leg. Hyol is trying to keep his angry face on.

Kern wants to clinch up but Hyol keeps it at a distance.

Kern gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hyol to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hyol swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kern is now in Hyol's guard. A big mistake from Hyol there, giving up the dominant position!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hrektik Hyol.

Kern moves in looking to clinch but Hyol pushes him off.
Kern shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hyol as he jumps to the side.

Kern fakes the leg kick and cracks Hyol in the body.

Hyol feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hyol is desperately trying to improve his position but Kern has a good base and remains in mount.

Hrektik Hyol overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kern is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hyol knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hyol for a finish.

Hyol is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kern gets his way!
