Hellscream moves into the clinch.
Hellscream tries to work over Smithy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A nice left hand lands by Hellscream.
Hellscream blocks the elbow strike.
Hellscream swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Smithy throws an elbow but it misses.
Smithy connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hellscream's face.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hellscream creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Hellscream is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hellscream lands a nice uppercut.

Hellscream breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hellscream gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Smithy gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Hellscream is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hashimoto ducks under a wild hook from Gracie.
Hashimoto throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gracie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hashimoto chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Augusto Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hashimoto thows a left - swing and a miss!
Gracie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hashimoto circles away quickly and effectively.
Hashimoto lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gracie's sensitive parts.
The fighters circling - Hashimoto throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gracie lands with an uppercut that bounces Hashimoto off the cage and back into range.

Hashimoto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gracie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hashimoto lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hashimoto lands with an uppercut that bounces Gracie off the cage and back into range.

Gracie is rocked!
Hashimoto flashes Gracie a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Gracie's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Gracie crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Hashimoto punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kazuo Hashimoto!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Diebler connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
