A head kick misses from Machida.
Jovani blocks a head kick by Machida.
Jovani swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Machida defending well as Jovani loads up on a big left hand.
Machida just misses with a punch to the body.
Jovani swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Machida lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Cesar Jovani has been cut.
Machida fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jovani.

Machida uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jovani has time to react.

Jovani doesn't manage to clinch there - Machida circles away.
Machida comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Machida is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jovani.

and Machida counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Machida uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jovani.
Machida takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Machida misses with an attempted mid kick.
Machida throws a head kick that half lands.
Machida moves out of range of the body kick from Jovani.
Machida throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Machida pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jovani back to the cage. Machida follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Machida uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Machida has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Machida bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Machida scores with a hook.
Jovani throws a poor cross that misses
and Machida counters with an outside leg kick.

Jovani moves in looking to clinch but Machida pushes him off.
Jovani is looking to land body kicks.
Machida fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jovani has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Machida lands a big head kick that sends Jovani tumbling to the mat! Machida takes a step backwards and waves Jovani back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Machida feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jovani sprawling to the canvas! Jovani rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Machida finish him?!

Cesar Jovani's cut is getting worse.
Jovani uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Machida.
Jovani gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Machida gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Meridius throws a body kick that misses.

No joy there for Meridius, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Venture blocks a leg kick.
Meridius keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Meridius misses with a hook.
Venture looks to throw the jab but Meridius is out of range.
Meridius misses with an uppercut.
Venture scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Venture avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Venture.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Meridius is not content to let Venture control the position.

Venture with the ground and pound but Meridius regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Venture throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Meridius wants to hold on but Venture pushes him away.
Meridius blocking the ground and pound.
Venture wants to control the pace but Meridius is squirming around nicely.

Venture throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Meridius because Venture loaded up on that one.
Venture unloads with some shots from mount but Meridius bucks and avoids them well.
Venture wants to control but instead Meridius manages to regain half guard.

Venture working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Meridius's thigh. Meridius counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Venture throws a strike but Meridius rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Venture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meridius swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Venture fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Meridius manages to avoid it.

Maximus Meridius seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Meridius fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Venture looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Meridius throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for Meridius.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Good leg kick by Meridius there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Meridius circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Venture drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Meridius follows Venture to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Maximus Meridius started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Pumperknickle lands a strong strike to the head of Johnson. That's dazed him! Pumperknickle looking to finish here. Johnson is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Pumperknickle lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ignatious Hashisha comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
