The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cryptic ducks under a wild hook from Hinds.

Hinds throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cryptic was covering up waiting for the punch and Hinds finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hinds throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Cryptic blocks it with crossed arms.
Hinds has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cryptic avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hinds changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cryptic looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cryptic is pushing Hinds's head away, looking to escape. Hinds manages to hold on to the position though.
You can see the frustration on Cryptic's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hinds throwing strikes but Cryptic manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hinds is looking for a sweep.
Hinds pushes Cryptic away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cryptic gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hinds can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to I Love Jax.
