Chavez darts in trying to clinch
and Brooks counters with a leg kick.
Brooks leaves Chavez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Brooks counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brooks has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chavez uses from the top position.
