The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gresham wants to clinch up but Partner keeps it at a distance.
Gresham darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Partner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gresham was well out of range. Poor timing from Partner.
Partner scores with a shot to the body.
Partner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Partner swings for the body but Gresham moves out of range.
Partner misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Gresham to counter with a crisp jab.
Partner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gresham moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Partner shoots in and drives through. Gresham sprawls well.
Partner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gresham eats them both and turns towards Partner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Gresham takes the fight into the clinch.
Gresham lands an elbow just above Partner 's eye.

It looks like Sparring Partner has been cut.
Gresham tries a body shot but Partner blocks it.
Gresham has Partner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Partner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Partner moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Partner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gresham.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Partner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The referee asks Partner politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Partner prefers to stall for the moment though.
Partner looks up at the clock and then as Gresham takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Partner smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
You can see the frustration on Gresham's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gresham is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Partner has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Gresham is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Partner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gresham with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Partner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Partner is pulling down on Gresham's head. It's preventing any offense from Gresham, at least for the moment.
Partner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Partner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gresham can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munch swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.
Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Munch which made him look bad.
Munch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Johnson there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Munch counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Munch lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Strife has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Taborda is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Taborda has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Strife to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Taborda is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Strife pulls down on the head and he's put Taborda to sleep! This one is all over!

Cloud Strife really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Fossington & Blythe: Gentlemen's Fight Attire logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

The Pitbull throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schmitt's waist but Schmitt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The Pitbull off to one side.

and Schmitt counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The Pitbull tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schmitt swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The Pitbull moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schmitt fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked The Pitbull out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Owen Schmitt!
Owen Schmitt very nearly forgot to thank Fossington & Blythe: Gentlemen's Fight Attire amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
