Carter throws a series of punches but me moves out of range.

me shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than me was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

me jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Carter is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Carter and me has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

me stands up.
Carter throws a right hand that me ducks under and follows up with a left that me also avoids with ease.
Carter misses with a takedown attempt

and me counters with a shoot takedown. Carter fights it but they end up in guard.
me pushes down on Carter's leg and manages to get into half guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

me feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Couture shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Williams as he jumps to the side.

Williams lands a left and a right that send Couture crashing to the mat, dazed. Williams thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Couture is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Couture is trying to drag Williams to the mat but Williams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Couture seems to have got his legs back now.
Williams creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Couture's defenses.

Williams lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Knees in the clinch landing for Williams.
Williams lands an elbow that stopped Couture in his tracks for a moment.

Couture gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Couture takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Williams connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Rodney Couture's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Williams just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Williams moves in looking to clinch but Couture pushes him off.
Couture looks to throw the jab but Williams is out of range.
Couture moves forwards but Williams connects with a nice, crisp jab.
