The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Druskin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kawa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Druskin somewhat.
Kawa throws a right and a left that Druskin avoids nicely.
Kawa throws a nice looking combination but Druskin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kawa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Druskin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kawa has managed to get both his arms back between Druskin's legs - danger averted.

Vaits takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Vaits tries for a takedown but Poldi circles away easily
and Poldi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Poldi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Poldi leaves Vaits with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Poldi connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Vaits tumbling to the canvas! Poldi pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Vaits was done - good stoppage!
