Velazquez has chosen Before the Flood- as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Aaron Velazquez was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Velazquez stuffs the takedown attempt from Gonzales. Gonzales gets slowly back to his feet.
Velazquez leaves Gonzales with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Velazquez keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Velazquez lands a left and a right that send Gonzales crashing to the mat, dazed. Velazquez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Jorge Gonzales has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gonzales closes the distance and clinches.
Velazquez is trying to force a seperation but Gonzales has the dominant position.

Gonzales pulls guard effortlessly.

Gonzales has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Velazquez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gonzales wriggles free and stands up.
Velazquez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Gonzales is breathing heavily.
Velazquez wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Gonzales takes a shot right to the bread basket.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Velazquez lands a nice hook to Gonzales's body. Gonzales takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Velazquez drops Gonzales with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gonzales looks back up at him and smiles so Velazquez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Velazquez lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Gonzales falls backwards - clearly groggy! Velazquez dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aaron Velazquez!
Our winner, Aaron Velazquez, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

Cooper stuffs the takedown.

Tyson pulls Fox into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Fox sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tyson's guard.
Tyson wants to get back to full guard but Fox has mounted him!

Fox is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Tyson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Tyson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Fox anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Tyson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Fox slips an arm under Tyson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Fox has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Fox is squeezing on Tyson like an anaconda would it's prey. Tyson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Satriani had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alvares defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Satriani is looking to stand up but Alvares isn't so interested in that idea.

Alvares avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Alvares trying to control the position from guard on top but Satriani is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Satriani is looking to sinch up a triangle. Alvares throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Satriani's body to avoid the submission. Satriani has instead reached around Alvares's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Satriani arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
