The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zetroc Iii shoots and misses
and Tanaka counters with a good low kick that Zetroc Iii was not able to check.
Tanaka lands a nice looking body kick.
Tanaka moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Shingo Tanaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tanaka fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Zetroc Iii.
Tanaka lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Zetroc Iii shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Tanaka controls Zetroc Iii momentarily but Zetroc Iii frees himself.

Zetroc Iii drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tanaka manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Zetroc Iii has Tanaka in his guard.
Tanaka stands up over Zetroc Iii, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Zetroc Iii is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tanaka defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zetroc Iii had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tanaka defends it easily.

Tesser rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zetroc V moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tesser moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tesser looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tesser will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Some wild striking there from Tesser.
Tesser lands with a nice combination. Zetroc V backs away looking to recover.
Tesser looks gassed!
Tesser tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Zetroc V uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tesser.
Zetroc V tries for a takedown but Tesser sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tesser feints a jab promting Zetroc V to slip. Tesser then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Zetroc V slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Zetroc V counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tesser won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zetroc V has hold of Tesser's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tesser seems comfortable defending it but Zetroc V has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tesser is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tesser is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Zetroc V couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Barclay cracks Syrapudong with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Syrapudong looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Barclay finish him?

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Voda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Don Omar ft. Tego Calderon - Bandolero. Ricardo Silva had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?
