The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ashcroft fails with the takedown.
Rodriguez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ashcroft stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mckracken holds on and takes a little breather.

We're going to have a standup here because Zak Mckracken wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Deadpool shoots for a double leg takedown but Mckracken sprawls well. He's pushed Deadpool's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A jab from Mckracken finds it's way through Deadpool's defenses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mckracken, as that shot connected.
Mckracken fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Deadpool on the side of the head.
Mckracken throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Deadpool's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Mckracken dives in looking to finish as Deadpool flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Mckracken's strikes! Mckracken is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Deadpool's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Deadpool was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
