The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders tries to clinch up

and Cruz counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cruz.

Cruz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Saunders enables Cruz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Saunders manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Cruz's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Cruz wants to pass the guard but Saunders is keeping the position.

Cruz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

I think Amidal might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Act Like You Know. Shannon has chosen Don't Tread On Me - Metallica as his entrance music. Shannon tries to clinch but Amidal is having none of it.
Shannon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Amidal swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shannon wants to clinch.
Amidal thows a leg kick but Shannon checks it
and Shannon counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Amidal lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shannon has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shannon and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Yadav comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Shayad kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman!
