Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between eat Me (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rod Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melendez has chosen Bad Company as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rod Melendez struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 137.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. eat Me has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Me decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Melendez is refusing to be controlled, as Me sits in half guard.

Me is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Melendez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Me.
Me perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Melendez is looking for a sweep. Me is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Me looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Melendez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Me is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Me is looking for a kimura here.

Me wants to lay and pray for a moment but Melendez keeps working.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kit motions for Verson to come forward. Kit throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kit wants to slow Verson down by chopping away at his legs.
Verson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kit.
Rodrigo Verson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Verson has a takedown stuffed.
Verson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kit as he jumps to the side.

Verson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Verson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Lonzo shoots in looking for a takedown. Grande tries to sprawl out of it but Lonzo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grande manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Grande tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lonzo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Grande is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Grande gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Lonzo gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Grande is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
