KZ stuffs the takedown.
Linnell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Bezj Linnell has been cut.
Piter KZ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Linnell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Oh, that's a big right hand from KZ and Linnell goes tumbling to the canvas! KZ follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
KZ is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Linnell is hurt! He's hurt bad - KZ fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Linnell from any more punishment! Congratulations to KZ! Great finish!

Cintron creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Gaziev tightens his grip and picks Cintron up, before dumping him to the ground. Cintron manages to land in guard.

Cintron has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gaziev off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Gaziev throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cintron tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gaziev is in Cintron's guard.

Bitaskis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Twilight stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Twilight tried to score with a low kick but Bitaskis checks it.
Bitaskis avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Bitaskis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bitaskis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Twilight takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Twilight with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bitaskis to score with a decent uppercut.
Twilight throws a series of punches but Bitaskis moves out of range.
Bitaskis scores with the left hand. Twilight knows he should have avoided that one.
Twilight finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bitaskis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Twilight throws a right and a left that Bitaskis avoids nicely.
Bitaskis fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Twilight tries to bum rush Bitaskis with a series of wild strikes but Bitaskis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A bone on bone clash there as Bitaskis blocks the leg kick.
Twilight tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bitaskis was well out of range. Poor timing from Twilight.
Bitaskis cracks Twilight with an open hand slap.
Good work by Bitaskis as he checks the leg kick.
Bitaskis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Twilight looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bitaskis uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Twilight has time to react.

Donk. Bitaskis catches Twilight right on the button with a cross.

Twilight does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bitaskis is looking to wear down Twilight with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Bitaskis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Twilight's head backwards.
Bitaskis connects with a crisp jab.
Twilight throws a nice looking combination but Bitaskis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Twilight lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bitaskis circles away quickly and effectively.
Bitaskis stalks Twilight and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Twilight's face. Twilight staggers backwards, shaken.
Bitaskis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Bitaskis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Bitaskis steps in with a hook that catches Twilight right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Bitaskis follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Twilight looks absolutely devastated.

Evans creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kobra sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Elbrys Gora!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Barby Girl!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Girl slaps away a takedown attempt from Gora, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gora misses with a takedown attempt

so Girl counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Girl trying to control but Gora is working from the bottom.
Gora has a closed guard, preventing Girl from standing up.
Gora bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Girl's guard.
Gora with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Gora working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Gora trying to control but Girl is working from the bottom.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gora stops Girl from standing up.

Gora drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gora jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gora slips nicely into half guard.
Girl looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Girl blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gora.
Gora stops Girl from getting back to his feet.
Girl has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gora is working away from the top position though.
Girl wants to stand back up but Gora manages to pass into side control.
Girl taking a bit of punishment here - Gora scoring with strikes.

It looks like Barby Girl has been cut.
Girl tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gora wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gora creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Girl sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Gora in side control, throwing shots but Girl defends.
Girl is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gora off and has taken his back!
Girl controlling well, preventing Gora from escaping the position.
Gora manages to reverse the position and now he's in Girl's guard. Nice work there by Gora.
Gora stands and throws Girl's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gora is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Girl is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Girl wants to get back to his feet.

Gora has hold of Girl's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Girl tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gora cranks the arm and Girl screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Girl, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Elbrys Gora!
Elbrys Gora is the new heavyweight champion!
