Muerte tries to score a body lock takedown but Salaam shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Muerte drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Salaam gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Geiger Salaam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Muerte.
Salaam pushes Muerte back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Muerte has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Salaam is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Muerte seems to have recovered his senses.

Salaam lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Salaam creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Muerte's defenses.
Salaam creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Muerte's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Muerte drops to his knees and Salaam pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Geiger Salaam!

After winning the bout, Geiger Salaam thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
