Undercard bout

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paul Allison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Allison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jin Kong!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allison misses with a series of wild punches.
Allison lands with a nice body punch.
Allison connects with a single shot there.
Allison stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Kong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Allison is trying to break the clinch but Kong has him pressed against the cage.
Kong misses with an elbow over the top.

Kong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kong closes the distance and clinches.

Allison is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kong is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Allison to the mat. Allison regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Allison is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kong defends well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kong seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kong postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Allison is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kong, into his guard.
Kong pulls Allison in close to prevent any damage.
Allison in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kong doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kong wants to sweep here but Allison controlling him for the moment.
Kong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Allison. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Allison wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Kong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kong misses with a takedown attempt - Allison sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Allison displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kong.

Kong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kong shoots in looking for a takedown. Allison tries to sprawl out of it but Kong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Allison manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Paul Allison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jin Kong.
Horrible takedown by Kong or perhaps it was just good defense by Allison which made him look bad.

Kong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Allison's waist but Allison gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kong off to one side.

Jin Kong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jin Kong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Jima Jamm thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hek tries a head kick but it misses.
Hek avoids the body shot from Speedman.
Speedman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hek.
Hek moves in looking to clinch but Speedman pushes him off.
Hek staying out of range there.
Speedman getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Speedman sizes up Hek with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Speedman thows a body shot but no joy.
Hek avoids the body shot from Speedman.
Hek tries to clinch but Speedman moves out of range.
Hek showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Speedman.
Sloppy strikes from Hek. Those never looked like landing.
Speedman throws a hook to the side of Hek's head but Hek sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hek closes the distance and clinches up with Speedman, looking for a takedown. Hek pushes Speedman against the cage but Speedman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Speedman throws a shot to the body.
Hek with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Speedman to score with a decent uppercut.

Hek is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Speedman drops Hek with a straight right hand, right on the button! Speedman follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
