The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mapompo looks to score with a jab to the body but Saunders is just out of range.
Mapompo tries to clinch up but Saunders circles away and keeps his distance.
Saunders tries a head kick but it misses.
Mapompo takes a swing at Saunders's ribcage but misses.
Saunders misses with a double jab
and Mapompo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Mapompo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
George Mapompo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mapompo lands with a hook. Saunders tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mapompo throws a sloppy head kick and Saunders moves out of range easily.

Mapompo lands a left and a right that send Saunders crashing to the mat, dazed. Mapompo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Dan Saunders has been cut.
