Undercard bout

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dillion Brody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brayden Lovell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brody has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lovell works Brody's body with a nice hook.
Brody is breathing heavily.
Lovell throws a head kick that misses.
Brody takes a kick to the side of the head.
Brody swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Lovell counters with a head kick that drops Brody to the mat! Brody scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lovell steps into range and cracks Brody with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Brody flops backwards and Lovell dives into his guard looking to finish!

Brody is rocked!

Lovell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Oh Brody is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Lovell engages and cracks Brody with a massive lead left hook - Brody tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Lovell is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hunter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith wants to clinch up but Hunter keeps it at a distance.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hunter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hunter scoring with punches and elbows.
Smith is being controlled here.
Smith defending against the ground and pound.
Smith is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hunter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well.
Hunter is trying to ground and pound but Smith uses the momentary lack of control by Hunter to regain half guard.

Smith is looking to escape.
Smith throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Still in half guard, Hunter seems content to control.
It looks like Hunter might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Smith trying to hold on to Hunter's head to control him but Hunter postures up.

Smith is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hunter pulls his head out easily.

Still in half guard, Hunter seems content to control.
Hunter passes to full mount!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smith wants to control but Hunter is having none of it.
Smith reaches up to try and control the position but Hunter seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Smith rolls and tries to escape and now Hunter has his back!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hunter is not going to allow Smith to sit and survive in this position.

Hunter has got his arm under Smith's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Smith has spun round into Hunter's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Smith throws a big elbow that misses.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Hunter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hunter manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Hunter's guard.
Smith with a flurry of punches that miss.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith postures up in Hunter's guard and throws a big left but Hunter blocks it.
Smith wants to stand but Hunter is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hunter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Smith trying to control but Hunter is working from the bottom.

Hunter throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith working some strikes from top position.
Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hunter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rylan Hunter will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Hunter counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Smith has had enough of the clinch but Hunter keeps him there for the moment.

Hunter is trying to trip Smith. He has hold of a leg but Smith is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hunter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Smith is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hunter rolls with it to try and escape but Smith cranks on the arm and Hunter is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Logan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Don't Stop Believing. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Logan enables Stamper to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Logan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Stamper slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Stamper passes into half guard.
Well, if Stamper is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Logan is looking to improve his position.
Stamper drops an elbow to the side of Logan's head.

Stamper escapes and gets back to his feet.
Logan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Stamper gets a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Logan drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stamper pulls his leg out and moves away.
Logan is breathing heavily.
Logan wants to clinch but Stamper slips to the side

and Stamper moves into the clinch.

Stamper jumps into guard, dragging Logan to the mat.
Stamper wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Stamper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Logan defends it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Stamper has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Logan should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Stamper has tightened it up now! Logan should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Barker is trying to control. Estep wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Barker should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Barker thows a huge punch but Estep dodges it nicely.
Barker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Barker trying to control the action but Estep is working from the bottom.

Barker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Barker slips a nice elbow through Estep's hands, connecting with Estep's forehead.
Estep trying to hold on to Barker's head to control him but Barker postures up.

Earp tries to keep at a distance but Morris has taken the fight into the clinch.

Morris wants the takedown. Earp is fighting it off but Morris persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Earp's guard against the cage.

Earp is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Morris has his hands clasped together but Earp extends an breaks Morris's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Earp.
