Sic is looking to land body kicks.
Vertinskaya tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sic paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Velasquez lands with a kick to the temple. Adams shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Brian Adams has been cut.
Velasquez lands with a shot to the body.
Adams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Velasquez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Adams might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brian Adams hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Velasquez stuffs the takedown.
Crunch! Velasquez slams his shin into Adams's torso.
Velasquez looks for the body kick but Adams saw that one coming.
Velasquez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Adams moves away.

Velasquez has Adams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Adams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That was a close round but I would say that Whitepride Velasquez will probably get the nod.

Velasquez throws a right hand that Adams ducks under and follows up with a left that Adams also avoids with ease.

Velasquez is looking for a sweep. Adams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Adams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Velasquez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Adams has managed to get both his arms back between Velasquez's legs - danger averted.

Velasquez has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Adams. Oh but Velasquez has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Adams goes limp - he's gone! Velasquez jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
