I think Pagliera might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rammstein - Mein Herz Brennt . Pearl has chosen yes as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Mr Pearl will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

With a record of 22 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Mr Funktastic!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funktastic takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Schmitt throws a half hearted mid kick.
Schmitt with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Funktastic defending well as Schmitt loads up on a big left hand.
Funktastic keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Funktastic keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Schmitt.
Funktastic looks to land a left hand but Schmitt moved out of range nicely.
Schmitt misses with a kick to the body
enabling Funktastic to counter with a crisp jab.
Schmitt misses the jab.
Schmitt wants to clinch up but Funktastic keeps it at a distance.
Funktastic uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Schmitt.
Funktastic defending well as Schmitt loads up on a big left hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Schmitt. Funktastic does a little dance to reset his feet.
Owen Schmitt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Funktastic steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Schmitt.
Schmitt throws a hook to the side of Funktastic's head but Funktastic sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Schmitt moves out of range of the strikes.
Schmitt misses with an uppercut.
Schmitt throws a head kick but Funktastic moves out of range.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Funktastic lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Schmitt has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Schmitt and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Schmitt throws a leg kick but Funktastic sees it coming and moves out of range.
Schmitt misses with a combination
and Funktastic counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Funktastic ducks under a wild hook from Schmitt.
Schmitt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Funktastic counters with a shoot takedown. Schmitt fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Funktastic postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schmitt is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Funktastic, into his guard.
Schmitt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Funktastic has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Schmitt should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Funktastic has tightened it up now! Schmitt should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mr Funktastic! Mr Funktastic retains his welterweight title!
Mr Funktastic really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Fossington & Blythe: Gentlemen's Fight Attire logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
