The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blevins walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hooker.
Blevins throws a series of punches but Hooker avoids them all with ease.

Hooker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Blevins is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Blevins kicks Hooker off and gets back to his feet.
Hooker plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Devon Blevins has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blevins tries to clinch there but Hooker circles away.
Hooker ducks under a wild hook from Blevins.

McGroin cracks DeLuca with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! DeLuca looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can McGroin finish him?
DeLuca tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. McGroin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
DeLuca changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGroin tries to avoid it but DeLuca manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGroin to the ground. McGroin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

McGroin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh DeLuca is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McGroin fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks DeLuca square on the jaw! Damn, DeLuca is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Dwight Schrute decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
