The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sizemore fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sizemore looking to score a takedown here. Horton is defending well but Sizemore drives through and ends up in Horton's guard.
Sizemore passes into half guard.

Sizemore tries to throw a body punch but Horton avoids it by throwing Sizemore back against the cage.

Horton breaks the clinch.
Sizemore throws a series of punches but Horton moves out of range.

Sizemore throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Horton was covering up waiting for the punch and Sizemore finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sizemore decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Horton, up you get!

Estep winds up and cracks Prototype with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Prototype tries to kick Estep off but Estep keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Estep looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Prototype with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Estep is trying for a kimura here. Prototype looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Estep wins by kimura!

Conner lands a big right hook! Estep looks hurt but is still standing! Conner lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Estep falls down and Conner dives in with a huge hammer fist! Estep's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Conner runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Blankenship shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
David blocking the ground and pound.
David wants to hold on but Blankenship pushes him away.
Blankenship takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
David can't escape the position.

David defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Blankenship.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poor strikes thrown by Blankenship there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Blankenship's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
David tries to hold on but Blankenship pushes him away.

Blankenship is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. David can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Blankenship is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but David is surviving well by controlling Blankenship's body position as best he can.
Blankenship tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
David is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Blankenship jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but David manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Blankenship seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down David for as long as he can get away with.
David is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Blankenship off and has taken his back!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy fails with the takedown
letting Lovell counter with a right hand.

It looks like Austin McCoy has been cut.
Lovell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCoy circles away quickly and effectively.

and McCoy counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lovell is lucky that one didn't land flush.
McCoy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lovell is fending him off so far but McCoy persists. Nope, Lovell circles away and we're back to standing.

Lovell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McCoy to the mat! McCoy manages to get full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lovell wants to stand and escape but instead McCoy has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Lovell is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Lovell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lovell takes a swing at McCoy's ribcage but misses.
McCoy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Lovell makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Zaine Lovell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Austin McCoy.

McCoy moves into the clinch.

Lovell has dropped down and is working for a takedown. McCoy is trying to keep an underhook but Lovell manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Lovell stands and steps away. McCoy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
McCoy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lovell can pounce on him.
McCoy wants to clinch up but Lovell keeps it at a distance.
Lovell throws a series of punches but McCoy moves out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Lovell.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lovell buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Whack! Lovell lands a heavy head kick that drops McCoy. The ref tackles Lovell to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because McCoy was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Zaine Lovell!
