Svalbard feints and as Zero raises his hands in defense, Svalbard changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Zero is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Svalbard is aware though and is defending well.

Zero working for a triangle but Svalbard defends it easily.

Zero escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Svalbard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wrassle thows a body shot but no joy.
A decent looking cross lands there for James.

It looks like Joe Wrassle has been cut.
James swings for the body but Wrassle moves out of range.
Wrassle takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
James uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
No luck for Wrassle with that takedown attempt.
Wrassle takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

James ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wrassle throws out the jab.

Wrassle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
James wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
