The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bubba shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Balaia napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A lull in the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bubba's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Bubba looks up at the clock and then as Balaia takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bubba smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bubba has an Americana. Balaia didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bubba is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bubba hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Big Bubba!
Big Bubba decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
