The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Isamu clobbers Malushev with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Malushev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Malushev throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Malushev shoots in looking for a takedown but Isamu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Malushev's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Isamu counters with a nice uppercut.

Pound comes into a darkened arena with his song building. When I'm Gone - Eminem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pound is in close to Bear's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Bear on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bear tries to get out of the position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pound connects with a nice short shot to Bear's temple.

Pound has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bear is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Shishkin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Paukku but Paukku pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Paukku cracks Shishkin's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Shishkin slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Paukku can do further damage! This one is done, son!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Steele cracks Uzi with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Steele immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Uzi is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Steele!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Leon Henry.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Kukuev. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Kukuev has gone for a leg lock! Drago slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kukuev's guard.
Drago must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Drago wants to stand but Kukuev has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Drago won't allow Kukuev to sweep him here.

Kukuev is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Drago rolls with it to try and escape but Kukuev cranks on the arm and Drago is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
