The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duarte shoots in for a takedown but Laranja shows good takedown defense.
Duarte shoots in and drives through. Laranja sprawls well.
Laranja scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Laranja tries to bum rush Duarte with a series of wild strikes but Duarte uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Duarte moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Duarte closes this distance looking for a takedown but Laranja circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Duarte. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Duarte feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shirahama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shinra swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kenichi Shirahama is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Shirahama is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Well Shirahama has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
