The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christmas keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Gronkowski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sloppy strikes from Gronkowski. Those never looked like landing.
Gronkowski lands with a slapping head kick.
Christmas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gronkowski's head backwards.
Christmas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gronkowski at a distance.
Christmas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Gronkowski counters with a shoot takedown. Christmas fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gronkowski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gronkowski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gronkowski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
