The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Alvarez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Alvarez keeping full guard, as Viriato tries to pass.
Viriato looking to sit in guard and control but Alvarez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Alvarez drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Alvarez seems to have locked his on tight now - Viriato screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Alvarez, as he picks up the win!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Chuteboxe counters with a crisp one two that drops Wirolewski! Chuteboxe thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Wirolewski to his feet! Wirolewski is in big trouble!

Micun is pressed up against the cage. Arona has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Micun down to the mat. Micun avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Micun should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

and Micun counters with a head kick that drops Arona to the mat! Arona scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Micun and Arona are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Micun throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Arona into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Micun knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
