The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diamond looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
RunningRabbit gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Diamond.

RunningRabbit shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Diamond manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
RunningRabbit working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Diamond bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in RunningRabbit's guard.
RunningRabbit is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
RunningRabbit keeping full guard, as Diamond tries to pass.
Diamond wants to stand but RunningRabbit has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diamond stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Diamond, as that shot connected.

The referee warns Diamond that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Diamond will probably get the nod.

Diamond throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

RunningRabbit shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. RunningRabbit showed some decent athleticism there.

RunningRabbit is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. RunningRabbit connects with a nice short shot to Diamond's temple.

Patterson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is "I'm Too Sexy". Gimmick's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Gimmick was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
