Black doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Fitch counters with a nice double leg into side control. Black won't be happy with that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Fitch remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Black tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fitch wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ubereem stalks Black and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Black's face. Black staggers backwards, shaken.
Black misses with a jab to the body
and Ubereem counters with a head kick. That will keep Black thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Ubereem shoots in looking for a takedown. Black tries to sprawl out of it but Ubereem keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Black manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Black throws a series of punches but Ubereem moves out of range.

Quik Phish takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Oleynik lands a big head kick that sends Quik Phish tumbling to the mat! Oleynik takes a step backwards and waves Quik Phish back to his feet - he wants the finish!
