The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCrae tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schulz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McCrae somewhat.
McCrae ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Schulz moves away.

McCrae changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schulz tries to avoid it but McCrae manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schulz to the ground. Schulz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Schulz drops McCrae with a beautiful combination! McCrae stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Schulz is looking for the KO!

It looks like Ellic McCrae has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Some people will probably question the ref's decision but McCrae was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
