The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harper rushes Torres and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Harper breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Harper stuffs the takedown attempt from Torres. Torres gets slowly back to his feet.
Harper will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Torres shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Harper as he avoids it easily.

Harper gets a clinch.
Torres tries for a takedown but Harper manages to get underhooks.

Harper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Torres closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harper circles away.

Torres wants to control from the top but Harper keeps moving.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Harper holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harper wants to stand but Torres is controlling the position.
Torres might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Harper is staying active underneath Torres, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Ricardo Torres has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Torres crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Harper - the referee stops the clock and Torres gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Harper. Torres manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Horrible takedown by Torres or perhaps it was just good defense by Harper which made him look bad.

Harper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Torres looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Torres is looking for a sweep.

Harper tries to move into full mount but can't pass Torres's legs.

Torres is not content to let Harper control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Torres takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Harper decides to stand up, so the ref orders Torres to his feet.
Torres shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Harper as he avoids it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Harper counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Harper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Torres swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Torres isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Harper stacks Torres on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Harper!

The fighters circle momentarily. Harper darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Torres shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Harper sprawls well. Harper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Torres gets slowly back to his feet.

Harper is trying to trip Torres. He has hold of a leg but Torres is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Harper persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Harper decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Torres. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
