The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gable defends it nicely.
Gable steps to the side to avoid the strikes from James.
James dives in and grabs Gable's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gable pushes down on James's head and hops out.
James closes the distance and clinches up with Gable, looking for a takedown. James pushes Gable against the cage but Gable circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pepper is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Pepper circles away and we're back to standing.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Pepper throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pepper lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pepper's jab looks to have found its range, popping Johnson under the eye.
A left and a right from Pepper both land. Nice combination.
Pepper slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
